January 29–31, 2027 • 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Central each day Build skill. Put it to work This three-day course builds practical rifle skills through realistic scenarios and hands-on instruction. You will shoot from varied field positions, work through wind & changing distances, & use tripods, terrain, & available supports to build stable shooting positions. Learn by doing. Put instruction straight into practice with your own equipment, then bring those skills together in field scenarios that challenge you to assess conditions, solve problems, and make sound shooting decisions. Who It’s For >Hunters preparing to apply their rifle skills in the field. >Anyone looking to move beyond the bench & work through realistic shooting scenarios. >Civilians, law enforcement, & military personnel seeking practical field shooting experience. Prerequisites >Comfortable operating your rifle safely and independently. >Familiar with your rifle & optic & able to apply basic shooting fundamentals. > Able to spend full days outdoors, move across uneven terrain, & work from different shooting positions. Skills Covered > Rifle and optic setup for field use. > Field shooting positions & tripod use. > Wind reading and range estimation. > Observation, spotting, & communication. > Using terrain, barricades, & available supports. > Applying skills in realistic shooting scenarios. Course Format > Each day builds on the previous one, combining instruction, hands-on practice, and realistic scenarios. What’s Included > Course instruction, use of training areas, and guided field exercises with instructor feedback throughout. Required Equipment > Reliable rifle and optic w/ at least 10× magnification is recommended. > 500 rds of rifle ammo. > Eye & ear pro > Clothing suitable for weather, incl. layers & rain gear. > Sturdy footwear. >Daypack, water, lunch, & snacks for full days outdoors. >Rifle Setups & Rentals Common setups include an AR-style rifle w/ an approx. 18-inch barrel chambered in .223, .308, or 6.5 Creedmoor, or a bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor or .308. Similar or equivalent setups are welcome. Contact for rifle setup questions. Rental options are available. Optional Equipment: >Kestrel/ballistic solver, binoculars, rangefinder, tripod, bipod, shooting bag, & sling. >A complete packing and equipment list will be provided before the course.
