Level I – Carbine is a relaxed introduction to the carbine, covering concepts from various zeroing techniques to engaging multiple targets from the standing position. This beginner course is tailored for new shooters eager to absorb as much information as possible in one day. The course focuses on educating shooters about nomenclature, efficient zeroing techniques, and multiple shooting positions. Course Objectives: - Assembly and disassembly - Weapon maintenance and nomenclature - Sight picture and sight alignment (red dot and iron sights) - Proper loading and unloading procedures - Understanding common malfunctions and clearance techniques - Efficient zeroing techniques - Ballistics - Weapon safety and range etiquette Who Should Attend: This course is designed for true beginners and those seeking a refresher on the course objectives listed above. Prerequisite: This course is ideal for true beginners who have recently purchased an AR-style carbine or for those wanting a refresher on the basics. Equipment Requirements: - AR-15 or AR-style carbine (alternate platforms considered on a case-by-case basis) - Three magazines - Magazine pouch - Eye protection (wraparound, polycarbonate, or equivalent) - Ear protection (electronic preferred) - Appropriate range attire: long pants, closed-toe shoes, and a crew-neck or button-up shirt Note: This course is designed to provide a low-stress environment to maximize confidence and competence for all shooters.
